Chi Nguyen possesses nearly two decades of professional expertise in arbitration and corporate legal affairs.

Having held roles as the Secretary and later as the Deputy Secretary General at the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), she skillfully managed numerous arbitration cases across various industries. Chi was recognized for her dedication to ensuring procedural efficiency, compliance with regulations, and upholding procedural integrity in accordance with the VIAC Rules.

In 2014, she obtained a Master of Law Degree in International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary, University of London, recognized for its distinguished academic programs training professionals in international dispute resolution. Following this achievement, she became a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in the UK. During her tenure at VIAC, Chi actively conducted research on dispute resolution, contributing to publications in prestigious international journals such as the World Arbitration Report and Kluwer Law. She shared valuable insights on legal risk mitigation and corporate settlements at seminars, delivered lectures on commercial arbitration, contributed to the drafting of various legal documents such as the Law on Enforcement of Civil Judgments, Civil Code, Law on Commercial Arbitration, and the Resolution on Guiding Law on Commercial Arbitration, etc.

Chi also held the position of General Counsel for nearly a decade at the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS). In this role, she oversaw in-house corporate legal services and corporate management consulting. NAPAS operates a financial switching system that interconnects 64 members, comprising banks, financial companies, 40 payment intermediaries, over 200 enterprises, and service providers. Chi's extensive practical experience includes managing the implementation of corporate management frameworks and providing legal counsel to the Board of Directors and Executives on a wide array of business-related legal issues. Notable achievements include facilitating the successful merger of Smartlink Card JSC into Banknetvn JSC to establish Vietnam's distinctive switching system (NAPAS) and contributing to the drafting of the Circular on bank card operations. Moreover, Chi offered technical support to the State Bank of Vietnam during the TPP Negotiations.

Since 2023, Chi has served on the Panel of Arbitrators at VIAC. In this capacity, she participates in arbitration proceedings as a co-arbitrator or chairperson of the arbitral tribunal in various VIAC arbitrations. With her profound expertise and a wealth of experience in both legal and corporate management realms, Chi has become a respected figure in the field of arbitration. Her role at the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) allows her to leverage her legal acumen and strategic insight to resolve complex disputes efficiently and fairly.
